MPS student deadline for submission of the 2021-2022 academic DE/DC required approval and scholarship forms to high schools for program participation



1. Complete the required approval and scholarship forms in the Academic DE/DC Packet.

2. Submit completed approval and scholarship forms to high school for eligibility review and principal approval. 
The submission deadline of required approval and scholarship forms for 2021- 2022 academic DE/DC participation to high schools is July 15, 2021.

3. Upon high school approval, contact an MPS postsecondary partner of choice to complete the enrollment/registration process.

4. Provide evidence of postsecondary course enrollment to high school.

Carver High School Important Information Below

 Carver High School Re-Opening Procedures for Students 




1. Entering the building 


-Students should not arrive on campus any earlier than 7:00 A.M. 

-The first time a student is dropped off before 7:00 A.M a parent/guardian will be

contacted by the administration.   

-Students may enter the building at 7:00 A.M for Breakfast 

-Student temperatures will be checked at each entry. 

-Students with a temperature of 100 or higher must be picked up from the nurse's 

office located in room G201.

-Masks will be checked with temperatures before entry.

-Students without a mask will not be allowed to enter the building. A student

 without a mask will be required to wait outside while a parent will be called to

 bring a mask or pick the student up. 

-Masks must be worn all day except while eating lunch or breakfast. 

-No bandanas 

-Entrances

2. Courtyard- bus riders and drop offs 

-When student drivers arrive on campus they should remain in their own cars until 

allowed into the building at 7:00 A.M.

-Students are not allowed to open any door for other students to enter the building.

-Students MUST enter at one of the 2 entry points and be checked. 

-Students will be required to follow the uniform policy for Carver High School. It can be

 found on the Carver website under “For Parents”. 


2.  Exceptional Education Students (CBI Unit)


  • Students will enter from the bus lane using EPOD

  • Students must wear masks (unless there is a documented health concern) all day except while eating lunch or breakfast. 

  • A designated staff member will take the students’ temperature upon arrival

  • Students will report to their classrooms

  • The paraprofessionals will pick-up the students breakfast and lunch (students will eat in the classroom)

  • Students will be monitored at all times by the teacher and/or paraprofessional


3. Breakfast 


-Students who would like breakfast should report to the lunchroom at 7:00 A.M. entering

 through the courtyard.


4. Lunch 


-Students will report to their 5th period class. Teachers will be called via the intercom to 

escort and report to the lunchroom with their students. 


5. Class procedures


-Classrooms will be sprayed, wiped down, and/or fogged at least once a day. 

-Masks will be required in each classroom all day. 

-Computers

-Students are encouraged to bring their own device if possible.

-Students are encouraged to bring their own headphones. 

-Students will be expected to socially distance at computers in each classroom.


6. Changing classes 


-Students should always walk to the right in the hallway. 

-Tape will be placed to keep students socially distanced while walking single file

down the hallway.  

-Students will not be allowed to visit the front office or guidance during class changes.

7. Restrooms 


--For safety reasons, the restrooms will be monitored during the exchange of classes and 

other times to prevent overcrowding. 

-Students must have a restroom pass from their current teacher. 


8. Schedule 


--Green days are odd days

-Gold days are even days

-The Odd (Green) and Even (Gold) days will rotate each day




9. School dismissal 


-All students MUST be picked up by 4:00 P.M.

-The first time a student is left after 4:00 P.M. a parent/guardian will be contacted

 by administration.

-No group gatherings are allowed while waiting for buses or parents. This includes

student drivers. 

-It is strongly recommended that students have an umbrella.They will HAVE to remain 

socially distanced even in the rain. 

-Students can exit the building by the closest door to their last class of the day. 



10. Parents


-We will provide information concerning check-ins, check-outs, and absence procedures in the near future.

-Parents will be allowed to enter the lobby area to check-in students at the 

check-in/check-out window. 

-Check-ins and check-outs will be handled in the main lobby by entering through the front door. 

-Please make sure your students have dressed appropriately for the expected weather. 

-Please monitor the wellbeing of your student(s). If a student exhibits ANY symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how minor, please keep them at home for the safety of all. In the event your student tests positive for COVID-19, please contact the school at (334) 269-3636.

-All conferences will remain virtual or via telephone conference. 


11. Additional 


-Water fountains will be disconnected.  

-Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. 

-Hand sanitizing stations will be set up at each entry and additional places throughout the 

School. Students are welcomed to bring their own hand sanitizer and wipes in their clear or mesh bookbags.

If your child has assignments to submit, he or she may submit those assignments. Grades are updated each week.
